Linen is considered the strongest of all natural fibres. Linen garments, therefore, are the perfect addition to conscious wardrobes. My exams had just ended and I was excited for my upcoming vacation. As usual, my mother was keen for me to help her clean the house, and I was happy to oblige her. One morning, while I was out running errands, I came back to see her cleaning my room. It was too late – she had already discovered the box I’d stashed away, which held the pride flag and old newspaper cuttings of some of my favourite actors. “Where are the women, I wonder,” she said plainly. I braced myself for a barrage of insults, even starting to mumble and apology for ruining her Diwali.
“Are you gay?” she asked. I was lost for words but my face said it all.
“I will always love you. Go forth and follow the rainbow,” she said, with a smile. My eyes teared up as she wrapped me in her loving arms.
Let no one dull the rainbow within you, when you rock this beautiful viscose saree.
Viscose modal is a blend of two semi-synthetic fabrics, namely viscose and modal. Viscose is a type of rayon, which is also known as artificial silk. It mainly comprises regenerated cellulose that comes from wood pulp and other agricultural sources. Modal is derived from the pulp of beech tree. A combination of both these fabrics ensures that the resultant fabric is soft, breathable, lightweight, durable, and has excellent colour retention, absorbent and elasticity.

Tara rubbed her eyes. But they seemed to have stopped working. All she could see around her was a blur of colours. If she squinted hard enough, the blur shaped itself into tiny dots, like pixels. It was a terrifying thought to be plunged into a world so large that she was as small and insignificant as the particles that comprised it.
But no matter how small she was, she knew she mattered. There was a reason she had been planted here, in this chaotic, unclear world and she would find that reason. Closing her eyes, she summoned every bit of her willpower to shape the pixels into something more. Something she could comprehend. And before her stunned eyes, they combined together to form the most beautiful tapestry of blossoms and freckles she’d ever seen. Draping the fabric around her, she glided forward, letting her heart rule her mind and lead the way for the first time in her life.
Your determination is your superpower; may it shine through when you’re wearing this exquisite printed saree made of modal viscose.
Viscose and modal are bio-based fibres derived from plants. They are extracted from a compound called cellulose, which lends stiffness and support to plants. This cellulose is realigned to create a fabric that is soft, durable and breathable. When both the fibres are combined, modal imparts lightness and a rich feel to the fabric. Both the fibres are responsibly sourced and have a low carbon footprint.

She’d always been fascinated by the sky. One night, as she gazed up at the velvet canvas overheard, it seemed to her that moon was tinged with pink. It reminded her of the time she’d accidentally misplaced her mother’s favourite bracelet, which was made of pink moonstone. She remembered staying out extra late to avoid the inevitable confrontation with her mother. But, to her surprise, her mother said nothing. Eventually, her curiosity got the better of her and she asked her mother about the bracelet. With a chuckle, her mother asked her to spin around and face the mirror, where she could see the bracelet fastened around her little neck. All at once, she remembered pleading with her mother to let her wear the bracelet, the evening before. “Love only grows when shared. Remember that. And, the next time you think you’re in trouble, try owing up instead of running away,” her mother added, patting her little head. It was a lesson she’d carried with her for the rest of her life, and the silvery light of the moon reminded her of that.
Let your heart overflow with the moon’s radiance in this pretty peach saree, made of cotton silk.

Who wants a five-star dinner date when one can gaze endlessly at the million stars in the sky with the one they love? What is the romance of an infinity pool when compared to being struck by awe while taking strides in the ocean? How do we decide whether a controlled man-made setting that assures a false sense of security trumps over the wild canvas of nature that is actually where we belong? Perhaps we can make an informed decision by experiencing both. Maybe we cannot walk into a jungle without a care, but can we get wet in the rain a little bit? Can we walk barefoot a little bit? Instead of following the blinking lights of our mobile phones, can we follow the fireflies a little bit?
This made-in-heaven mul cotton saree is elegance and glamour put together. It isversatile and brings out the best from within you! The mul cotton is what we call Made in Heaven at Suta. Known in West Bengal as mul mul, the fabric is what can be categorised as muslin cotton. It is believed that this fine method of weaving cotton can be traced back to even before the Indus valley civilization. What makes this fabric special is the almost magical process of weaving it. Cotton fibres are separated and spun into strong threads. The lightest and the most delicate fibres are separated and are then spun into muslin thread. These are then woven into fabrics by skilled weavers. The history of muslin weaving is a beautiful chapter in the history of Indian textiles. The process of the yore was much more complex and involved many unique tools that look primitive but worked like magic. The upper jaw of a catfish was used to initially clean the cotton before spinning. To separate the lightest fibres, a Dhunkar (a bamboo bow) was used, which when strung in a distinctive way made the lighter fibres rise above the heavier ones. This process gave the title Woven Air to the muslin fabric. Weavers famously wove on looms that were at ground level and operated the looms from pits dug in the ground. Even during the Mughal era, the muslin fabric was seen as a symbol of power for its finesse. History is full of anecdotes to prove the awe that the muslin fabric generated. Emperor Aurangzeb is said to have chided his daughter Zeb-un-Nisa for appearing naked in the court when in reality she had been wearing several layers of the muslin cloth! Such was the fabrics delicateness. The almost invisible fabric had made an Arab traveller in the 10th century remark that the degree of fineness is such that a garment can be drawn through a ring of a middling size. During the British colonisation and even during the Mughal rule, the art of weaving muslin took a hit as weavers were treated poorly and drought hit many of the weaving centres. As a result, today, the process of weaving has seen a lot of change. Nevertheless, the essence of it hasn't changed and the charm of the fabric still remains.

Miss Hyacinth, her kindergarten teacher had left an indelible impression on her. Although she had a smiling face, her eyes looked serious. The children were never quite sure if they should lean forward for a hug or begin the day with a handshake. Despite the ‘mixed signals’, she was fond of Miss Hyacinth because she took them out for regular classes. Not just for the games period. Amidst nature, every new learning seemed easy. It was as if the trees, yellow leaves, birds and squirrels were all conspiring to make her learn.
It was in those surroundings, in the august presence of Miss Hyacinth, that she learned to fly as fearlessly as the hummingbird.

She was often told to “behave”. To wear clothes that did not invite attention. To get good grades but never dream of doing too much with her achievements. To find a “suitable” profession… this long list of requirements was imposed on her, because there were so many eyes on her. What would those people say?
It took her a decade to break free, to turn around and tell them that she did not care what they said. This year, she was celebrating her first year of freedom. For Halloween, her theme was her life’s biggest scary story. After filling her home with little eye-shaped stickers, she smiled and poured herself a glass of wine while they all watched!

Evergreen in Kerala #TAPCollection

Blouse: Su, the model is wearing size S of blouse called Black and Grey Alat Palat
Is the colour teal, green or blue? It is actually both, originating from the Eurasian Teal a freshwater duck with a bluish-green stripe extending from its eye area to the back of its head. There’s music in her silence. And a pensiveness in the music. She misses something kindred and precious from times far away. Maybe another life. She’s the first drop of rain in the hurricane. They thought she was crazy, braving the wind and enjoying it too. But she felt like the wind untamed, unharnessed. And so…Kerala is becoming of her. The vagrant land with its soaking rains, tranquil backwaters and Ayurveda of 5000 years. Birdsong, the water’s face, the moist air lingers in her mind. She can hear the wind-chimes ringing wildly somewhere.
